I BUSY

Last night Curtis and I were hanging up and putting away clothes.(yes, he helps me sometimes) I asked Olivia to please take all of her toys and put them in her room. "I BUSY" is the response I got. It wasn't an 'I Busy I'll get back to you in a minute'. It was a 'I don't have time for you right now'. Well I found it so funny, I had to hide behind a towel so she wouldn't see me laughing. She got in trouble, but that didn't faze her. She continued to say it all night. Some days all you can do is laugh.

It's Been a Crazy Month

I have been at my new job for a month. It is crazy busy, but I'm really enjoying everything about it. It will definitely be a challenge to learn everything. For those of you who may know, yes I work for Noel. She is great and I don't know how she did all of this by herself for two years.

Olivia has officially hit the terrible two's. She hasn't minded us in about two weeks. We here no, wait, and five more minutes alot. It's getting pretty frustrating, but then she'll do something that's funny or cute and we forget about it. She had a stomach bug last week. We're all still trying to catch up on missed sleep from those three days. She has been to three dance classes. Dad is taking and picking her up. She'll show off her new moves every week. It's pretty funny.

I will try to post some new pics sometime in the next week.

I have a new job!!!

So, last week I interviewed for a job at Texas Tech. She called me the very same day and told me I got the job. It was a great day. The job is Tax & Compliance Dept. under Financial Affairs. I am very excited about the challenges this job will offer. I will still get to do some tax work, which I love, but in different areas. Also, we are in charge of new policies around campus that deal with tax issues.

I just want to thank everyone who helped me get this job. I appreciate all of the kind words, inquiries on my behalf, and the good thoughts. I will start Aug. 25th, so until then you better call me on my cell or e-mail. I'll let everyone know through an e-mail what my new numbers will be later in the month.

I am going to Grad School!!! I was recently accepted into the TTU Rawls College of Business MBA program. They have a new program that meets once a month for the next twenty-eight months. I am very excited and can't wait to start.

Sorry Florida pics didn't post earlier. We had a great time with Crockett and Jared when we visited. The beach, strawberry picking and the Gulfarium. It was so much fun. Olivia ate her first chili, cheese nachos and left the chip behind.

It has been forever since I posted. I apoligize to everyone. It was tax time and some things have been going on around this house. Anyway things are back to normal and it's SUMMER. Olivia's birthday is in one week. She will be two. I can't believe it. She is a wonderful little girl(not a baby anymore). She talks in sentences most of the time and can count to five in english and spanish. It's pretty cute. Uno sounds like nuno. She is always ready to go out to Kathy and Mister's for the afternoon. She likes to listen on the phone, she's not a big talker yet.

Family update. Summer took her big test today and will find out in about a month whether she passed. I'm not worried for her, she is very smart and studies all of the time. Her and Taylor are moving to Amarillo in the next few weeks. She will start her rotations next month and he is working for Cal Farley's Boys Ranch this summer. He will start with the Amarillo College BSM in August.

Crockett and Jared are moving back to Texas. YEA!!!!!!! They will be living in Miami, TX. Jared will be coaching girls basketball and Crockett will as always, find a job somewhere. They will also be youth directors at First Baptist, Miami.

5. That we are going to get rain/snow tomorrow. I am tired of waking up with crackling hair.
4. That the writers strike is over. I don't get to watch much tv, but I Tivo Grey's, and I've been missing it.
3. I love that I have a wonderful husband. He really helps me out around the house and taking care of Olivia during tax season.
2. That both Mom and Crockett have new jobs. It is wonderful for both of them.

18 Months

Olivia is 18 months old. She had her checkup yesterday. Dr. Landry said she is a typical toddler. 21lbs. 14oz, 31 inches long. I was glad she had gained some weight. It's hard to find clothes that fit her well. I will post pictures from the holidays this weekend.

The Duck and I went trick-or-treating. Curtis drove us around. We went to five house and it took forever. Olivia didn't understand what was going on. She kept trying to give her treats back. She loved her costume and didn't want to take it off. Hope everyone had a good Halloween.

Yesterday was Olivia's 15 month checkup. She is 19lbs. 14oz. (10%) the doctor said not to worry. 31in long (75%). I forget how big her head was but it's in the 90%. She also said she has a good vocabulary. Her words are Daddy, puppy, thank you, hi , bye, what and hey. She had to get four shots. It was rough, but she wasn't too cranky yesterday afternoon. Will post pics soon.

On the way home from Florida, we stopped in Mobile at the Battleship Alabama. It was very impressive and hot. They let you tour the whole ship. Those big guns can shoot up 21 miles accurately. That's a lot of miles.

A few weeks ago we went to Florida. We took the newlywed's the rest of their stuff. We had wonderful time. Olivia liked to eat the sand and liked to drink the salt water. The beach and the water are beautiful. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it and we've been to quite a few beaches. It was good to see Crock and Jared. I think they will have great time living in Florida.

Mom decorated a room for Summer in their house. It is connected to the kitchen. I think she did an awesome job. My favorite thing is the large ottoman. She bought a big cowhide and covered the ottoman, a stool, and some chairs. Notice the back of the divider is an organizer for wrapping paper and school supplies. Love it. Just thought I would brag on mom for a bit.

Curtis' Grandmother passed away over the weekend. She was 88 years old and lived a long, full life. She was a very sweet, kind lady. She will be missed by many, but remebered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

They're Moving

Crockett and Jared are leaving today. They are moving to Florida. We just said goodbye and I'm a little bit sad. I know we will see them in two weeks, because we are taking them the rest of they're stuff. We love them and will miss them very much.

Last weekend we all went with Crockett and Jared to the tux place. She made him try on a lot. She wanted to see all of her choices. Jared was a very good sport and finally said whatever you want.

Livvy was a good sport, but we had to go for a walk a couple of times. We were there for two hours. It was a long afternoon for everyone.
I think the wedding plans are almost done. Just so anyone who is interested knows, the shower in Slaton is March 18th.

We have a very curious child. She looks for things when they are lost. She peers over the edge of things. I think one day if we don't watch out she will be on the floor.
She is very mobile now. Rolling over both ways and crawling. The crawling is not very fast, but she moves around. Yesterday before I knew it she was reading the phone book.
She has two teeth now. Cutting a tooth is very hard for her. She was a very grumpy girl this week, but now that it's in she's back to being happy.

We were playing in her room the other night. Like all babies she loves having no clothes on.
These were tonight while Curtis and I ate dinner. She is very good and likes to sit in her high chair and play with her toys.
Livvy is eating combo foods. Tonight was sweet potatoes and corn. She loved it. She spent Saturday with Kathy and Mister. She loves Mister so very much now. He is her pal. We saw Mamia today. She seems to be doing very well and really enjoys company. Curtis is leaving us for a week starting Thurs. I think we will go live with Kathy and Mister for the weekend so we don't get to tired of each other.

I'm sorry everyone for not posting lately. I don't even think I've taken pictures in the past two weeks. I'm a bad mama. Livvy cut a tooth last weekend while Curtis was out of town and we were cooped up in the house together. urggghhhh. As I sit here typing, she just said Dada a lot of times. Curtis is so proud. I don't think she knows what it means, but she said it. She is still working on crawling. I am getting busy at work, but I will try to keep up with the blogging.

Papaw's Birthday

Six Months Old a week late

Livvy turned six months old Dec 30. She went to the doctor last Wed. She is 16lbs 1 oz. and 26.5 inches long. The Dr. was impressed with her length 85th percentile and she said her weight is consistent. Overall she is doing everything she is supposed to be doing. These pictures were taken Wed. night. She sat by herself for a couple of minutes before falling over. She is scooting backwards and thinking about crawling. She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. She is babbling a lot. We are both coaching her on Mama and Dada.

I don't know if it's okay to tell, but I'm going to anyway. Crockett and Jared are getting MARRIED!!!! Yes that's right MARRIED. He proposed New Year's Eve day I think. I will get more details later. She is still in New York. He flew to New York and surprised her. I was stunned at the news, but am so very happy for them.

Mothers are Wonderful People

Curtis and I are very lucky to have two wonderful mothers. I want to thank Granann for coming to the house the other day to babysit. Curtis had to study so she loaded up Granny and came over. When I got home from work, the dishes were washed and laundry was done. What a wonderful surprise. Thank you so very much Ann.

I don't have recent picture of mom on my new computer, but you all know what she looks like. She is always willing to watch Livvy for a couple of hours so we can catch a nap or run to the store. She picked Livvy up the other night on her way home. Curtis and I ate dinner alone. It was a little strange. So very quiet. We only talked about Livvy a little. Thanks mom for all that you do.

I know the title says mothers, but grandmothers are wonderful also. A few weeks ago, Mom, Livvy, and I went to El Paso. Livvy got a cold while we were there and couldn't sleep laying down because she would get stopped up. Mamaw sat up with her all night rocking and singing to her so mom and I could sleep. Thanks Mamaw for being a great grandmother.

Taylor gave Livvy this bear. It is very cute and soft. This morning she was sitting in her high chair and grabed the bear and growled at it. Then she started chewing on its nose. She growled at it several times. I think it's the funniest thing she has done yet.

Santa Claus came to our house this morning. Livvy got a bunch of hair bows, a rattle, a teether, and some one slipped in some lottery tickets.

Kellyn played the organ for us and it was wonderful. She is a very talented young lady. After presents were opened she tried on probably five different perfumes. Then she was a very smelly young lady.

Last weekend Taylor graduated from West Texas A&M. Yeeaaa!!!!
Mom and Dad had a little get together before graduation. We got to meet some of Taylor's Canyon and Miami friends.
We are all very proud of Taylor and I know mom and dad are happy no one is currently in college.

Snow Day

I love the snow and wanted to share it with Olivia. So I took the Bumbo Chair outside and took her picture. She seemed to love it as much as I do. Notice the boots in the picture below. Aunt Crockett got them for her. They are lined with fur. Cozy warm.

All bundled up this morning and ready to go to the babysitter. We want to especially thank Aunt Misti for this nifty car seat blanket. Warm and cuddly, Livvy was this morning in the cold wind. It didn't seem to bother her though.

The Bumbo Chair

Curtis' mom got Livvy a Bumbo Chair. This is the best baby thing ever. She can sit up in it all by herself. There are no straps or things to keep her in and it weighs almost nothing. She loves this thing. She has been more interested in sitting up than rolling over, so this is a wonderful thing. I didn't think it really worked but it does. Thanks Ann.

Johnny Jumper

Kathy and Mister brought Livvy a Johhny Jumper last week. After dad and I finally got it together, Livvy had a good time licking it. Ther was no jumping going on. All she did was gnaw and drool all over it. We think she is in the early teething stages.

She really likes to sit in it and sometimes she will swing.

Tonight Livvy ate peas for the first time. It was a big mess but she had a good time. I stripped her clothes off because I didn't want to try and get peas out clothes.

This was rice cereal from the other day. More peas.

These aren't in order. I haven't gotten very good at posting yet. The doctor told us she could start baby food. So we've been experimenting. She wasn't much on peas, but she really likes juice. Go figure.

Family update

I started this blog to keep our friends and family updated with what we are doing. I hope I can keep up with it. I realized how hard it was to get pictures to everyone so I will put them here and you guys and check for new pics. So our update is... Olivia is 4 months old. She just had her four month shots and took them like a champ. She is rolling from her tummy to her back. She is showing more interest in trying to sit up than rolling to her tummy. She is 13lbs 10oz. We had family picures taken last Sunday so expect good Christmas cards. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how.
